InspectVue will work on any table running Microsoft Windows® and Intel® based processors (Excluding the Atom™ Processor)

We recommend a tablet with the Intel® Core™ i5 Processor. Although the i3 & i7 processors will work, the i5 seems to have the best "performance to cost" ratio. For more information on the difference in processors, read this article from PC Magazine.

Download/Install Instructions

  1. Download the Demo software HERE or from the Products tab above
  2. Save file to your computer & remember where it's saved
  3. Right-click on file and select "Run as Administrator"
  4. Select all default install options

You MUST have an Active Subscription to update

  1. Click Help from the top menu
  2. Ckick InspectVue on the Web
  3. Ckick Check for program uptates...
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions

Instructions

  • You will need a flash or thumb drive, or you could burn a CD.
  • Start InspectVue Library Editor.
  • Click on Tools.
  • Click on Backup libraries and reference files...
  • In the Backup dialog box, click on Backup MASTER Library.
  • In the Save As dialog box, choose a location, like your flash drive, to save to.
  • Type in a name for the file, such as Master06202014 (using a date on the end).
  • Click Save
  • If you have other libraries, you would repeat this process, choosing Backup OTHER Library, with each.

We get asked this question a lot and the answer boils down to how you use the software.

If you are making changes to your library every other day or are developing your own library and set of narratives, we would recommend backing up your library weekly or more.

If you rarely make changes to your libraries and have them set up just the way you like, perhaps once every other month might be in order.

But for most of us, our libraries are only mostly set up, we still work on them, polish them in an attempt to find just the right phrase or add that extra narrative that will shave 10 min off our reports. For us, we should be backing up every month.

Some Things to Remember:

  • Always back up your libraries in a specialized location in your Documents Folder
  • Incorporate the date into the name of the backed up Library (e.g. Master_Lib_04-2014.R4Library)

Things to Avoid:

  • Leaving backed up files on your computer. Always move your files to an external device such as a Thumb Drive or an external Hard Drive

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • You will need image editing software
  • Ensure that the image you will be using for your logo is the correct size and resolution.
  • 1 inch high by 6 inchs wide at 96 DPI
  • Open your file browser
  • Go to C:\
  • Click on ProgramData
  • Click on Porter Valley Software
  • Click on InspectVue R4
  • Rename _Company Logo 1x6.JPG to
    Company Logo 1x6.JPG
  • Edit image to include your logo
  • Save File
  • Print/Preview you report as normal

Your License is for one installation of the software.
